Link Dump for February 23

Sorry for the lateness of this post, it was a busy week! But I did manage to dig up lots of Scrabble-related goodness in the past few days:

Origami Boulders – A great story about a 60-second speed round of Scrabble.

Scrabble Game Spells Trouble – From the police blotter of Charleston, SC: “A 17-year-old male was upset to find out he had been kicked out of a game of Scrabble and overturned the board, which led to an altercation with a 16-year-old.” A 50-point bonus to writer Bill Henley for the great headline.

Scrabble Word of the Day

Hasbro FAIL – The screenshot for Hasbro’s latest Scrabble Word of the Day is making the rounds. The best write-up can be found at The Open End. LOL. (Of course, the word has been changed).

Flickr photos tagged with “Scrabble” – I wasted far too much time here in the last few days… I may have to make this a regular feature.

Scrabble World Record set – At the 25th Annual Phoenix Scrabble Tournament, Laurie Cohen and her opponent, Nigel Peltier, scored a combined total 1,127 points, surpassing the previous record of 1,108.
